Abstract
After briefly exploring the biblical portrayal of divine impartiality and its implications for human life, this paper will then seek to constructively align this theological resource with marking best practice.
In many ways, the marking of assessment items within theological education has the same joys, sorrows, and responsibilities as in any other field of higher education. But, as with its many other activities, theological education also brings its own distinctive flavours to the marking of assessments and the marker therefore has theological resources upon which to draw as they engage in their onerous task. One such resource in particular is the impartiality of “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”. After briefly exploring the biblical portrayal of divine impartiality and its implications for human life, this paper will then seek to constructively align this theological resource with marking best practice.
